The role of soybeans in pork production

In honor of National Pork Month, ISA Senior Director of Market Development Grant Kimberley shares the important role the Iowa pork industry plays in the demand for soybeans and soybean meal.

Iowa leads the nation in pork production and ranks second in soybean production - allowing the two industries to support one another. Pigs account for 17% of the domestic demand for soybean meal, making them the second largest livestock market for U.S. soybeans.
