The webinars, held March 9 and 11, are open to all soybean farmers. Farmers can choose to attend the one that best serves their needs or attend both for a complete learning experience.

RCFI staff members keep farmer goals and values at the center of this work, striving to provide practical and tactical research results that help farmers make the right decisions at the right time.

Create or continue your competitive advantage with ISA with a new learning opportunity that you can participate in from the comfort of your own farm office. It’s all about taking innovation on the go and putting the research to work.

Registration is now live. Iowa Soybean Association farmer members will receive an invitation to engage. Be watching your mailbox and email for more details this month.

Using Research to Improve Your Farming Operation: Tuesday, March 9, 8-9 a.m.
Our business is working with farmers to test methods, products, and new ideas. Our goal is to provide science-based information about agronomic methods that are both profitable and improve natural resources. Actions that improve yields and profits all start with ideas and available information. For farmers who already do on-farm research with us or others, we want to build on your success and connect you with results from other farmers.

We invite farmers who don’t currently participate in on-farm research with ISA to learn about the opportunities to engage with us. We want to connect you with results and work with you to make on-farm research and testing part of your management strategy.  Join us to learn about our programs and how they can inform decision making on your farm to improve yield and natural resources.

Topics will include:

  • Where to find results of ISA research programs
  • Regional research priorities and how you can participate
  • Highlights of 2020 research results
  • Current on-farm research projects including water sampling, soil health, fertility, biologicals and more.

Science-based Solutions for Your Farming Operation: Thursday, March 11, 8-9 a.m.

Each year, current ISA RCFI farmer partners break down the year’s trials and projects with staff, reviewing results and understanding how the lessons learned help them be more profitable and productive. Dive into two case studies (nutrient/cover crop management and cropping systems and profitability) and find out how this work improved the outlook of two farms.

Topics include:

  • Enhanced nutrient and cover crop management
  • N-rate trial example and results
  • Cover crop best practices
  • Access to a cover crop cost/economic online tool to get the clear financial picture
  • Nitrogen and cover crop impacts on water quality

These webinars are the kickoff to a series of ISA Research programming, stories, and more as farmers continue to put these results into action to keep their businesses thriving.
