ISA looks forward to working with Secretary Vilsack

March 3, 2021

Former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack was sworn in on Feb. 25 as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. After serving all eight years of the Obama Administration as USDA’s chief executive officer, he returns to the position. There are plenty of issues on his plate, including relations with significant trade countries, the future of renewable fuels and where farms fit in the new green energy landscape. Iowa farmers hope that Vilsack’s ties to Iowa and his knowledge of the Iowa Soybean Association’s programs and priorities will benefit soybean farmers across the state and throughout the Midwest.
