The Iowa Soybean Association’s (ISA) Advocate for Iowa Agriculture Award, presented by Bayer CropScience, was awarded to Robb and Jennifer Ewoldt of Davenport for their efforts in telling the story of modern agriculture.

The Ewoldts, with help from their two sons, raise soybeans, corn and routinely share their love of farming with a variety of audiences.

“We take great pride in raising a quality crop and caring for our livestock,” Robb says. “We truly enjoy being close to the land, working side-by-side with those we care about, and knowing that we are helping feed and fuel the world. And we want to share our passion with others.”

The Ewoldts host an annual “Picnic in the Pasture” for 300 people to learn more about life on the farm. Jennifer authors a bi-weekly column for the Quad-City Times detailing the many activities and events associated with operating a family farm. The column is so popular, the Times turned the fan-favorite editions into a book: "Into the Fields: A Celebration of Farm Life."

The Coalition to Support Iowa’s farmers recognized the Ewoldts last summer with the Wergin Good Farm Neighbor Award. It recognizes farm families for establishing and promoting good neighbor-to-neighbor relations as livestock farmers. The family has also been recognized as an Iowa Environmental Leader. The award is a joint effort between the offices of Iowa’s Governor and Lt. Governor and the state’s Departments of Agriculture and Land Stewardship Natural Resources.

The Ewoldts have been recognized with an Eddy Award by the River Action, a group that fosters environmental, economic and cultural vitality of the Mississippi River. They were the first farmers to ever win the award, a recognition of the family's outstanding work in building relationships with non-ag groups.

Robb has been a strong supporter of the Iowa Food & Family Project and ISA’s Iowa State Fair activities. He also testified last year at an Environmental Protection Agency hearing stressing the importance of a strong Renewable Fuel Standard for farmers, rural America and the country.

ISA's 2020 Leadership Awards were given in seven categories on Monday, Jan. 27, 2020, during ISA’s Annual Awards Banquet, sponsored by West Bank.
