Shop Talks: Rethinking tillage

Date & Time: March 10, 2026 | 9:30 a.m.

Location: Will Jones Farm Shop, 4430 US-71 Sioux Rapids, IA 50585

Join the Iowa Soybean Association’s Research Center for Farming Innovation and local farmers Paul Kassel and Will Jones for an informal Shop Talk to discuss no‑till and strip‑till systems—with and without cover crops.

Compare notes on equipment setups, learn from farmers who have refined their systems over time and troubleshoot real‑world challenges among peers.

What To Expect
  • Learn about no- and strip-till operations from Paul and Will who have integrated the practices into their farm operation to support farm revenue.
  • Explore equipment choices and the tradeoffs made to best fit the operation, and challenges to watch out for to avoid pitfalls based on weather and conditions with and without cover crops.
  • Engage with other farmers about farming practices and options that fulfill an on-farm conservation need while sustaining the farm operation.

Refreshments provided.
