District 5 Director
Tom Vincent farms near Perry in central Iowa and serves as a district 5 director for the Iowa Soybean Association (ISA). He grows soybeans, corn and seed beans.
Farming for 22 years, Vincent has grown passionate about promoting soil health and employing conservation measures that ensure the longevity of his resources. He practices reduced tillage and grows cover crops. He has implemented buffer strips along nearly every drainage ditch on his land. He also has several acres of waterways and land enrolled in the Conservation Reserve Program. He is also proud to have a bioreactor working to reduce his nitrogen runoff. Vincent feels strongly in doing his part to promote Iowa’s Nutrient Reduction Strategy.
A newly elected director, Vincent has already seen firsthand the necessity of an efficient soybean transportation system, the diverse and beneficial uses of soybean-based biodiesel and how checkoff dollars contribute to farmers’ return on investment.
Vincent also serves on his church’s finance council, his local Kiwanis chapter and his fraternity association.
