Turn conservation into cash through the Soil and Water Outcomes Fund

November 4, 2020

The newly launched Soil & Water Outcomes Fund has a lot to offer farmers. In its pilot year, farmers enrolled received between $30 and $50 per acre for implementing conservation practices that resulted in measurable environmental outcomes. Executive vice president of the fund, Adam Kiel, tells "The State of Soy" how farmers are earning these dollars from environmental practices related to carbon sequestration, nutrient reduction and soil health practices. Kiel says ISA staff will assist farmers enrolled, and with no enrollment cap in 2021, the opportunity to diversify and earn more dollars per acre is a pursuit worth trying. More information about the fund can be found at www.theoutcomesfund.com.
