Voting deadline approaching

The deadline to vote for ISA directors and at-large directors to lead the Iowa Soybean Association is approaching quickly. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to vote for the candidates who you think best represent Iowa’s soybean farmers.

The board of directors determines how your checkoff gets invested. Whether it’s increasing market demand, conservation and agronomic research or consumer outreach, your vote impacts the future of soybean farmer priorities.

“Just like with any election, our involvement determines the results,” says ISA President Jeff Jorgenson. “When we elect farmers to the ISA board, we are choosing the people who decide how to spend our checkoff dollars.”

Jorgenson invites farmers to be a part of the process by voting and taking the next step by running for a board position.

“Serving on the board wasn’t on my radar but has provided me a broader understanding of soybean production and how our industry plays a role locally, nationally and globally,” Jorgenson says.

If you market at least 250 bushels of soybeans annually, you received a ballot in the mail with detailed voting instructions and how to return your ballot envelope.

If you haven’t received a ballot, call the Iowa Soybean Association at 515-250-8640.
