Suzanne Shirbroun

President, District 3

Suzanne Shirbroun farms near Farmersburg in Clayton County, Iowa and serves as President of the Iowa Soybean Association (ISA) Board of Directors. She grows soybeans and corn with her husband and sons.

After watching her grandfather begin terracing, Shirbroun knew conservation would be important in the continuation of a family farm. She kept the terraces and currently practices no-till, contour farming and implements waterways and cover crops

Proud to be a sixth-generation farmer, Shirbroun has farmed for more than 22 years and is eager to welcome the seventh generation to the operation.

Shirbroun is passionate about investing in her product through checkoff dollars and saw it come to fruition while on a trade mission in Myanmar and the Phillipines. Recognizing the quality U.S. soy is known for, she feels it important to continue promoting and educating customers about her products.

She is also passionate about research and has been a longtime participant in ISA’s research program. Shirbroun is also involved in the North Central Soybean Research Program, Iowa Corn Growers Association and Iowa CommonGround.
