B100 AVAILABLE AT THE PUMP IN IOWA

URBANDALE, Iowa - Iowans are now able to obtain B100 at the pump. Prairie Land Co-op is offering B100, which is 100% biodiesel, at its cardtrol pumps in Ellsworth, Hubbard, and Ackley, Iowa, and B50 at its pumps in Garden City, Iowa. This is the first time B100 is available at the pump.

A special biodiesel pump promotion is happening on September 6, 2006, at the Prairie Land Co-op Cardtrol Ellsworth location from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. That site is located just 1⁄4 mile west of I-35 on Highway 175. B100 will be available at a reduced cost that day and the Hardin County Pork Producers will be serving pork burgers from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The event is sponsored by Prairie Land Co-op, the Iowa Soybean Association, the Hardin County Corn and Soybean Association, the Hamilton County Corn and Soybean Association, and the Hardin and Hamilton County Farm Bureau Federations. Volunteers from the sponsor organizations will be on hand to help pump biodiesel, handout materials and literature, and answer questions about biodiesel usage.

The Iowa Soybean Association develops policies and programs that help farmers expand profit opportunities while promoting environmentally sensitive production using the soybean checkoff and other resources. The Association is governed by an elected volunteer board of 21 farmers.
