IOWA SOYBEAN ASSOCIATION TO SPONSOR FIRST IOWA SPEEDWAY RACE

URBANDALE, Iowa - The Iowa Soybean Association (ISA) announces the addition of Karen Simon as director of communications.

Simon comes to ISA from Prism Business Publications, Bloomington, Minn., where she served as managing editor of The Corn and Soybean Digest, a monthly magazine for the nation’s top corn and soybean growers, for the past four years. Her work in the agricultural communications business also includes a five-year stint as managing editor of Ag Retailer, a publication for ag cooperatives and farm supply businesses. She has worked in association management with the American Agricultural Editors’ Association, and also in community journalism as editor of the Montgomery Messenger, Montgomery, Minn.

She recently earned a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership, with emphasis in strategic management, from The College of St. Catherine, St. Paul, Minn. A native of Minnesota, Simon is relocating to the Des Moines area.

The Iowa Soybean Association develops policies and programs that help farmers expand profit opportunities while promoting environmentally sensitive production using the soybean checkoff and other resources. The Association is governed by an elected volunteer board of 21 farmers.
