WESTERN IOWA ENERGY, LLC EARNS BIODIESEL ACCREDITATION

URBANDALE, Iowa - The Iowa Soybean Association applauds Western Iowa Energy, LLC for earning BQ-9000 Accreditation for its biodiesel production.

“We congratulate Western Iowa Energy for achieving BQ-9000 Accreditation from the National Biodiesel Board and National Biodiesel Accreditation Committee,” says Grant Kimberley, director of market development for the Iowa Soybean Association. “This certification helps ensure that Western Iowa Energy is producing the highest quality biodiesel, meeting the ASTM D6751 standard.”

BQ-9000 is a voluntary quality assurance program that provides confidence that biodiesel produced at the facility will consistently meet the ASTM D6751 specification for biodiesel.

“The Iowa Soybean Association is committed to working with biodiesel manufacturing plants in Iowa to ensure that our state is not only the number one producer of biodiesel in the country, but that Iowa is the number one producer of high quality biodiesel as well,” continues Kimberley.

The Iowa Soybean Association develops policies and programs that help farmers expand profit opportunities while promoting environmentally sensitive production using the soybean checkoff and other resources. The Association is governed by an elected volunteer board of 21 farmers.
