Water Monitoring Network
ISA EPS staff has provided design, installation and operation of an extensive water monitoring network for Agriculture's Clean Water Alliance (ACWA) for the past decade. This network now includes 105 sites in the Des Moines and Raccoon River Watersheds. An additional 23 monitoring sites are monitored by ISA EPS for various watershed and demonstration projects, with more added from time to time.
Samples collected from these sites, whether by our local teams of trained Certified Samplers or by automated samplers with flow meters, triggered by rain events, are analyzed at the Des Moines Water Works laboratory or ISA's own Water Lab. Collection takes place on most of the sites bi-weekly, April through August, every year. The process is covered by a DNR/EPA approved Quality Assurance Project Plan.
