Bremer County Holds Annual Field Day On Wed., Aug. 20, the Bremer County Corn and Soybean Association held its annual field day at the Steve Boevers farm at the intersection of Highways 63 and 188. Approximately 175 visitors were on hand to see 60 soybean varieties and 57 corn varieties from many different seed companies. A porkburger meal was prepared by the Bremer County Pork Producers and milkshakes by the Bremer County Dairy Promoters. Following the meal, Bremer County Corn and Soybean Association President Steve Mummelthei, Iowa Corn Growers Association President Tim Recker, ISU Farm Management Specialist Craig Chase and ISU Crop Field Specialist George Cummins presented a program. Results from this year’s plot will be available at the Bremer County Extension office following harvest.
