ASA Supports House Passage of Biodiesel Tax Credit Extension
The American Soybean Association (ASA) expresses appreciation to the U.S. House of Representatives for passage of H.R. 4213, which extends the biodiesel tax incentive through Dec. 31, 2010, retroactive to Jan. 1, 2010. ASA urges the Senate to also pass the bill.

NBB Hails House Passage of Biodiesel Tax Incentive; Calls upon Senate to Follow Suit
The National Biodiesel Board (NBB) is pleased that the House has finally passed the biodiesel tax credit. American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act retroactively extends the biodiesel tax incentive through Dec. 31, 2010. The measure passed the House by a 215 to 204 margin.

U.S., China Agree to Work Out Differences on Soy Standards
The U.S. and China have agreed to work together to iron out their differences on quality standards for the billions of dollars worth of U.S. soybeans that China imports yearly, according to U.S. government officials.

China Retaliates Against Argentina, Affects Soybean Oil
Not content with domestic squabbles with the farm sector, Argentina's antagonistic government has sparked the ire of its main trade partner, China. China halted all soybean oil imports from Argentina on April 1, stating quality issues, with no provision for when trade will resume.
