It may be a little early, but we can start planning. ISU's Palle Pedersen says, "Early planting is still the cheapest and most efficient way to increase yield, regardless of tillage systems and locations in Iowa." He offers advice regarding early planting.

ISA responds to USDA crop report

This week the USDA's crop report pegged the recent soybean crop at a record high 3.361 billion bushels, but the report also raised the estimates for expected exports and crush demand. ISA leaders comment.

We are paying less at the grocery store

The American Farm Bureau reports retail food prices decreased for the fifth consecutive quarter. All items surveyed were cheaper than a year ago, with 20-percent-or-larger declines in milk, vegetable oil, chicken breasts, cheddar cheese and potatoes.
