STC Hosts Surface Transportation Board Chair
The Soy Transportation Coalition invited Surface Transportation Board Chairman Daniel Elliott to tour ADM’s soybean processing plant and West Central Cooperative’s grain elevator, as well as discuss issues affecting the industry.

NBB Applauds Biodiesel 2011 Volume Obligation
The National Biodiesel Board (NBB) welcomed the EPA's Nov. 30 issuance of the final 2011 RFS2 Volume Requirements, which require 800 million gallons of biomass-based diesel. "There are significant job creation, energy security and environmental benefits associated with expanded biodiesel use," said NBB's Manning Feraci.

IPPA Issues Alert Regarding Vandalism
Iowa Pork Producers Association advises farmers and livestock operators to be on the lookout for any suspicious people or vehicles around farms, especially livestock operations. Several farms northeast Iowa have been targeted by vandals with considerable damage caused to confinement buildings.

USDA to Collect Final 2010 Crop Production Numbers
The USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) Field Offices will soon be surveying a sample of producers to determine State and county level production of crops and livestock. They request that all producers who are contacted participate to help ensure the results are as accurate as possible.
