Promoting preference for U.S. soybeans in China
Chinese demand for Iowa and U.S. soybeans will only increase in the years to come. As 1.3 billion people with increasing incomes want more meat in their diets, that equals more demand for soybeans. Because the Iowa Soybean Association's (ISA's) job is to make sure they buy Iowa and U.S. soybeans, ISA recently sponsored its third trade mission to China.

Heisdorffer named to help lead WISHH
The American Soybean Association has confirmed five new members, including Iowan John Heisdorffer, and extended the appointments of nine other soybean growers to lead ASA’s World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (WISHH) program.

Fish love soy

$1.2 million available for water quality and flood prevention projects
Iowa Ag Secretary Bill Northey encouraages eligible groups to apply for grants to support projects that will improve water quality or help prevent flooding in the state. A total of $1.2 million is available to local watershed improvement committees, soil and water conservation districts, public water supply utilities, county conservation boards, cities and counties.

State Fair success
ISA, along with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and other ag commodity groups, hosted a successful booth at this year’s State Fair. The group’s Farmville was even rewarded with a blue ribbon Court of Honor award from the Iowa State Fair for being one of the top exhibits at the fair.
