ISA team continues China trade mission
The ISA trade team continues their travel in China. This week they have traveled north to an area that produces 33 percent of the soybeans grown in China. Edamame: a new soybean crop for Iowa
Even though edamame is growing in popularity with Iowa consumers, nearly all the edible green soybeans available in this soybean-producing state are imported. Soyfoods Council Executive Director Linda Funk is determined to change that. On Monday nearly 20 chefs, food editors and news reporters attended an edamame harvest event at Ray Gaesser's farm.

Iowa community college sets national biodiesel trend
Biodiesel producers and consumers alike will benefit from a state-of-the-art fuel testing laboratory at Iowa Central Community College (ICCC) in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The lab has become the first in the world to earn accreditation as a BQ-9000 laboratory.

Brazil's top soy grower scales back expansion plans
Brazil’s biggest soybean grower scaled back plans to boost output next year as a strengthening currency erodes export profits and pot-holed roads increase shipping costs. “The strong real is making us less competitive,” Erai Maggi Scheffer said. “We would have much more of a stimulus with a weaker currency and better roads.”

DTN announces plans for Ag Summit 2010
DTN and The Progressive Farmer invite ISA members to Ag Summit 2010, "Recalibrate for the New Normal," at the Downtown Chicago Marriott, Dec. 7-10.
